President Message

As the excitement of back to school turns to routine, the DeWitt Elementary PTA is already hard at work to support students, parents, teachers and schools for the 2009-2010 school year. We provide support by:

• Fundraising (Carnival, Spirit Wear Sale, Membership dues)
These monies are used to help fund things like field trips and transportation, assemblies, learning enrichment programs and equipment for the elementary schools.

• Leading efforts to improve health and physical well-being of children by offering Health & Wellness programs. (Mileage Club, Fun Run, Walk to School Day, Skate Night)

• Hosting Parent Education Nights (Celebrate Calm, Love & Logic, Cyber Safety)
Programs offered assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children as well as understand how to support student learning.

• Providing Family Fun Activities (Carnival, Fall Tailgate, Art Night, Scrapbooking)

There are simple ways for you to show your support: join the PTA, volunteer, attend a PTA event. Although involvement in PTA is encouraged, it's not the amount of time you can contribute that's important, but rather your commitment to help PTA make a difference. PTA appreciates everyone's membership, whether or not they volunteer. I invite all parents, teachers and community members to get connected, be part of the solution and join us in enriching the lives of all students.
