PTA NEWS
Parents and educators enriching the lives of
children at DeWitt Elementary PTA, P.O. Box 695,
DeWitt, Michigan 48820
Message from the president As you’ll read in this newsletter, it’s PTA Carnival Time! Each year the PTA produces the Carnival as a fundraiser that is fun for families. While the Carnival is our biggest and most well-known activity, it is by no means the only PTA-sponsored family event. In September, there was the Tailgate. In February, we held Healthy Family Night. Coming in May is the Family Fun Run. In fact, all of our fundraisers and activities are designed to provide a service to the DeWitt Community. We want to give DeWitt families something they want. Our Spirit Sale was started to provide a source of DeWitt-logo items. Holiday Gift Shop gives young students a chance to do solo gift-shopping in a safe environment. Education Programs are designed to focus on topics of interest to parents of elementary school students. This year we’ve presented a DeWitt Schools Information Night and a program on Computers and the Internet. As we are nearing the end of this school year and starting our planning for next year, I’d like to ask for your feedback. It would be great to hear your thoughts on either or both of the following topics: Have you attended any PTA-sponsored events this year? If yes, what did you think? If no, why not? Are there topics or activities that you would like to see us present? Did you join the PTA? If yes, how often did you use the perks that come with membership? If no, why not? You can e-mail me at tbutcher@edzone.net or send a note in with your child. Just write “Attn. PTA President” on the envelope and you don’t have to sign your name. The board members and committee members of the DeWitt Elementary PTA work hard to make the PTA a valuable asset for our community. Please help us by taking a few minutes to answer the above questions or share any other thoughts you might have on the PTA. Thank you! HOLIDAY SHOP NOTICE Notice: Our Holiday Shop merchandise supplier, Fun Services, has notified the PTA that a recall has been placed on the "Winnie the Pooh Toddler Plate Set". The tines on the fork can break off, causing a choking hazard. Please contact Fun Services at 1-800-772-7587 if you or your child purchased this item during our December sales event. FECC School NewsSilent auction baskets are underway. A big thanks to all who volunteered to organize their class room baskets and to those who donated items. Lori Fox ATTENTION PARENTS Mrs. Roy applied and received a grant from the DeWitt Schools Booster Club. As a commitment back to the Boosters, she must provide a name of an individual that will volunteer to work ONE time at a DeWitt concession stand. The Boosters are in need of workers for a variety of sporting events throughout the entire year. Please consider working ONE time for this very generous group. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Kari Roy at 668-3314 or roy@dewitt.edzone.net |
